Many important drugs have narcotic properties and belong to a class known as controlled substances. Federal authorities, such as the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in the US, regulate these compounds. The development, production, and storage of such substances are allowed only after rigorous internal control systems are in place to limit access to the premises and to minimize the risk of any such material being unaccounted for or lost. 

Cambrex has two production sites in the US equipped with all the necessary protective installations and meeting all regulatory demands for all controlled substance schedules. Our experience with these regulations facilitates the introduction of new controlled substances.
