The company also acquires a Belgian manufacturer of APIs and pharmaceutical intermediates and adds a cell-based bioassay product line.

Cambrex completes the sale of Rutherford Chemicals. The company is dedicated to providing essential products and services that accelerate drug discovery, development and the manufacturing of human therapeutics. 

John R. Leone joins Cambrex as President and Chief Executive Officer to succeed James A.Mack who is appointed Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Cambrex and Ortec International partner to market OrCel™ in the US. Cambrex also acquires Innovative Rapid Microbial Detection Company, Genolife.
